HEAVY FEELINGS is a platform from Cologne for collaborative, cross-genre and future-oriented sound practice. Beyond trends, it connects an international community and creates spaces where music and visual arts meet. The summer festival edition now connects Cologne and Hamburg with a joint line-up: For the first time, Ahmad Mateen aka Ninja Kidsoul, a "pioneer of New German Soul" (ARTE), presents a new joint project with his Hamburg-based Kabul Fire Records labelmate agajon: a raw, genre-fluid set between soul, hip-hop and experimental sound. Summer festival party curator and Ballroom Kid DJ Jada brings rhythmic intensity with soulful sound to the KMH; and SMIKI, resident and defining voice of HEAVY FEELINGS, combines RnB, hip-hop and electronic music into dynamic sets. Closing the night is Parissa Charghi, founder and vinyl-only selector, who combines jazz, dub and rhythm-driven electronics into multi-layered sets. Together, this line-up reflects shared values, diverse perspectives and a love of sound that speaks for itself.
