The archaeological remains of the Roman Praetorium, partially excavated in 1953, and associated finds will soon be on display at MiQua. These include the monumental official residence of the governor of the Roman emperor, which was located in the north-eastern area of the Roman city. It remained populated in the early Middle Ages. Sebastian Ristow will provide information on the plans to present the Praetorium in the future MiQua in a contemporary way and in line with the latest archaeological findings, and will also present ideas for the presentation of the Jewish and goldsmiths' quarters from the Middle Ages.

Anyone who would like to find out more about the current status of the excavations and construction site is cordially invited to take a guided tour. During the tour, you are welcome to discuss with Sebastian Ristow the questions relating to the construction site and the planning for this future central site of Cologne archaeology. We look forward to seeing you there!
