Want to delve deeper into throwing?

In our monthly course, you will accompany the entire process of pottery making on the wheel over 5 dates - from the first centering attempts to your own finished, glazed pieces.

In a small, fixed group, you will learn the basics step by step and develop a feel for the clay and working on the wheel. We will first show you shapes such as cups and bowls and then special shapes such as lemon squeezers or plates and what is really important when throwing.

You will learn how to turn (trim), how to handle your pieces in the traditional way and important basics about working with clay - including recycling clay, the correct posture when turning and kneading techniques.

This will not only teach you technique, but also give you a real understanding of the entire process behind ceramics.

In the last session, we will focus on glazing your work. We will agree the exact date for this together in the group so that everyone can take part.

This course is perfect for beginners and anyone who wants to deepen their first experience on the wheel - with enough time to really get started, practice and develop your own style.
