festival contre le racisme

PICK OF THE DAY

You cannot miss this event.

In the organizer's words:

The festival contre le racisme has been taking place at the University of Cologne since 2004. As an integral part of the AStA’s work, the fclr has for many years sent a clear message against racism and in support of solidarity and internationalism.

With this year’s focus on anti-racism, anti-colonialism, anti-imperialism, and feminism, we aim to contribute to a repoliticization of the campus. We understand racism not merely as individual prejudice, but as a historically developed social power structure closely linked to colonialism, imperialism, and exploitation.

For us, music and culture are not apolitical spheres. They can bring people together, create spaces for exchange, and make social struggles visible. That is why the festival contre le racisme combines political education, culture, and collective action.

Over several days, you can expect political talks and discussions on issues of racism, colonialism, imperialism, and social emancipation. A special highlight of this year’s festival is the anti-racist rally on Thursday, July 9 on the Uniwiese under the slogan “Down with Racism, Colonialism, and Imperialism—at the University and Everywhere!” In addition to political speeches , you can expect information booths, screen printing, live music, and other hands-on activities.

In light of increasing racist incitement, a shift to the right in society, and wars around the world, we need a broad movement against racism, discrimination, and (neo-)colonialism. As students, we will not leave our university to the far right.

We look forward to a militant “festival contre le racisme 2026” and warmly invite all students to join us.
