On this musically diverse evening, two trios meet the eos chamber orchestra under the direction of Susanne Blumenthal: the trio around trumpeter and composer Bastian Stein with Phil Donkin on bass and James Maddren on drums will kick things off. Together, these musicians, bound by friendship, create their own universe of sound. They elevate the dense interplay to the highest common level, in which every moment is permeated by intense interaction. In doing so, they unite the great compositional forms with the spontaneous moment. Together they always find the right balance between the fully developed sound space and the playful moment. Their close collaboration is characterized by a harmonious symbiosis that allows them to inspire each other in their playing. Bastian Stein's compositional work and sound language on the trumpet are equally characterized by a strong narrative power that provides the ideal framework for virtuoso flights of fancy. For this project, Bastian Stein's pieces now appear in an orchestral guise - arranged by Niels Klein.
