On January 30, 2027, Club Volta in Cologne will transform into a stage for two of the most exciting acts on the dark electronic music scene: Dina SummerandDie Selektion will performtogether as co-headliners—an evening that’s sure to thrill fans of synth-pop, EBM, dark disco, and new wave alike.

Dina Summer:

—the Berlin-based collective centered around the Greek-German duo Local Suicide and Bavarian producer Kalipo (known from the electro-punk band Frittenbude)—has been synonymous since 2019 with a distinctive sound blending ’80s Italo disco, new wave, EBM, and early electroclash. 

With club-ready basslines, catchy hooks, and lyrics that range from Dadaist abstraction to empowering storytelling, the trio has made a name for itself internationally. They’ve received support from DJ heavyweights like Charlotte De Witte, The Hacker, Âme, Dixon, and Dubfire, and have earned praise from Rolling Stone, Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Spiegel Online. Live, Dina Summer is known for selling out concert halls and headlining festivals across Europe.

The lineup:

- bringsthe second facet of the evening: melancholic, hopeful trumpet melodies meet German lyrics, hard drum-machine rhythms, and synthesizer sounds in the tradition of Depeche Mode, DAF, and Nitzer Ebb. After more than 13 years as a band, three studio albums, and live shows in more than 23 countries, the band is considered one of the most influential voices at the intersection of goth, EBM, and techno—an act that brings together audiences who would otherwise rarely share the same dance floor.

Together, Dina Summer and Die Selektion promise an evening full of contrasts and commonalities: between melancholy and euphoria, between a concert and a club night, between the past and the future of electronic music.
