Christine Eixenberger has taken on many roles, not least her own: After working as an elementary school teacher, she made the switch to the stage and immediately went on to pursue a career in television. For years, she has appeared on camera as a firefighter in the hit ZDF series “Marie fängt Feuer” and has shone in numerous other character roles in film and television. But this consummate entertainer truly showcases her comedic talent live on stage: she has been honored with the Bavarian Cabaret Award, among other accolades, for her multifaceted stage comedy.

In her new solo show, Christine Eixenberger talks about what it’s like to no longer be single. The relationship is stable, and so is the housing shortage, so her partner moves in with her. “You and me” becomes “us”—with all the consequences that entails.

But Chrissy has that fully under control, too. Well, almost. With tireless energy and enthusiasm, she defies not only the minor crises in her newly formed two-person household but also the major ones in the world, because she knows: The big picture is reflected in the small details. And vice versa. Supply chain issues, artificial intelligence, and a chip shortage? The trained elementary school teacher tackles them with a hands-on, DIY attitude and a biotech lab in her fridge.

As a philosophically inclined member of Generation Y, she’s always asking herself “why”: Why is a balanced budget more important than a functioning education system? Why is it that the Austrians and the Swiss, of all people, manage to operate a functioning rail network despite topographical obstacles? And why, for heaven’s sake, is there still a crumb from breakfast on the dining table even though it’s already afternoon?

In her fifth stage show, “Volle Kontrolle,” the sharp-tongued cabaret artist tackles the challenges of becoming a couple in these turbulent times with plenty of humor—profound, entertaining, and very, very funny.
