In "Buried", an Australian single mom causes the death of a stranger on her way to school and from then on is busy integrating her ever-growing to-do list and the disposal of the body halfway into her daily routine. Which gets rather hair-raisingly out of hand and is sold by the makers as a "mum noir comedy thriller".

In the Austrian-German co-production "Sheep", which caused a sensation at the Cannes Festival, real people (including Birgit Minichmayer, Roland Düringer and Jella Haase) speak to real sheep whose mouth movements have been animated afterwards. The sheep mistakenly believe that they have domesticated humans. A misconception that could lead the sheep to certain death if the cynical sheep Oliver doesn't succeed in convincing his fellow sheep of the opposite: Sure, it's about meat consumption and vegetarianism, but even those familiar with the conspiracy tale of the "sleeping sheep" should find it entertaining.
