Basic democratic baroque spectacle

Six concertos with several instruments - what Johann Sebastian Bach assembled under this rather modest title is nothing less than a compendium of Baroque instrumental concertos. Without a conductor, the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra presents the complete cycle of Brandenburg concertos and thus has free rein to present the Hamburg audience with a grassroots Baroque spectacle in changing instrumentations and with unbridled virtuosity! Playful duets by solo horns and recorders - trios of oboes, violins and violas in heated competition - brilliantly trumpeting solos by trumpet and transverse flute - the combined energy of the great tutti: all this and more awaits the audience in the Great Hall of the Laeiszhalle!
