ARGIES

In the organizer's words:

The ARGIES have been around since 1984, making them a veteran of the Argentinian punk scene. The hard-working Argentinians prove with every new album that they are the spearhead of South American punk rock. No hay discusión! So, that's settled. Singer David has been living in Essen for some time now. This also explains the band's perceived permanent presence on European stages. The ARGIES are diverse, and not just from a musical point of view, because with songs in English, German ("Ein Zeichen"), Italian and, of course, Spanish, the internationality is kept high - in keeping with the political direction. A lot of rock, less punk, medium to high tempo and an understanding of melody form the distinctive style, which is always reminiscent of THE CLASH - and in some songs is vocally very close to Mr. Strummer.
