A recital with Frederico Spina (tenor) and Joon Oh Kim (piano).

La bonne chanson - the good song, the simple song: Gabriel Fauré's cycle from 1892, based on the series of poems of the same name by Paul Verlaine. Fauré needed a soft text that yielded to the notes and offered no resistance. He aimed at the general feeling of a poem rather than the details. In Verlaine's poetry he found a kinship that moved him to radicalize his aesthetic.
