Abdullah Miniawy 'The evens, Rahma'

Abdullah Miniawy (* 1994) presents The evens, Rahma, a live performance developed together with a flutist and a piper. The work explores temporal and expressive aspects of breath and wind and unfolds in a fragile interplay of voice and instruments.

Based on bird calls and the tonal language of the Indian flute, the performance works with imitation, repetition and variation. The focus is on calling as a practice that creates a shared sound space - supported by listening and coming together. Miniawy's work moves between music, poetry and performance and often deals with questions of political voice and collective experience. The artist's work is characterized by his early involvement in the Egyptian revolution and subsequent collaborations in the field of experimental music.

This concert takes place as a double bill with a concert by Heinali and Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko. We recommend purchasing a combined ticket for both concerts.
