About Dialoghaus Hamburg

Dialoghaus Hamburg is a nonprofit social enterprise that promotes inclusion and empathy through immersive experiential exhibitions such as “Dialog im Dunkeln,” “Dialog im Stillen,” and “Kids im Dialog” in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt. Our exhibitions offer exciting and educational experiences that open up new perspectives and break down mental barriers.

Dialogue in the Dark

Dialogue in the Dark is an immersive experiential exhibition in which visitors are guided through various everyday scenarios in complete darkness by blind or visually impaired guides. This unique experience allows visitors to experience everyday challenges from the perspective of a blind person, thereby fostering understanding and empathy. Dialogue in the Dark is a space for exchange and reflection.

Dialogue in Silence

Dialogue in Silence is an immersive, interactive experience that takes place in complete silence. Led by deaf guides, it offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture and communication styles of deaf people. Equipped with soundproof headphones, visitors learn how facial expressions, gestures, and sign language enrich daily life and how communication can be profound and expressive even without words.
