Battle of the Arts - Kickoff #22
There’s a loud bang! And once again, words are swirling around the stages. Iambic and trochaic meters awaken from their summer slumber, the long break is put on hold, sunscreen is scraped off, and the last grains of beach sand trickle out of our ears—because it’s starting all over again! The 22nd season of Battle of the Arts is now underway, presenting daring, clever, and witty performances.
To celebrate this special milestone in style, the Elbphilharmonie opens its doors, and the small hall is festively decked out with the finest spoken word—whether it’s poetry or rambling, prose or punchlines. The kickoff is a cheeky wink and a preview of the upcoming season.
Four female poetry slammers share the stage with stand-up comedians and indie music hidden gems. They all perform, one person wins, but in the end, we’re celebrating the months ahead above all else. Full of anticipation for what’s to come, we raise a toast to those without whom none of this would be possible: language, music, and, of course, the audience!
