Wie wir im Alltag zu mehr Ruhe finden – Kölner Buchpräsentation mit Sebastian Witte
In the organizer's words:
How can one find inner peace when everyday life is noisy and so many people are affected by restlessness, stress, and mental exhaustion? Sebastian Witte explores this question in his new book, *The Deep Joy of Watching a Snowflake Fall*. On September 24, he will present it at a book launch in Cologne at the Workstage of the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.”
Witte is an editor at GEO and has been writing about topics in the world of research for years. He is particularly interested in the big questions of life: What makes us the people we are? What are happiness and contentment built on? And how can we find more peace and serenity? In his book, he advocates for an art of mindfulness that can be cultivated anytime, anywhere—without withdrawing from everyday life, without a monastery, and without a set practice routine.
In conversation with Claudia Lehnen, chief reporter for the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, the discussion will focus on why being still is so difficult for many people, why a lack of excitement is quickly perceived as a threat, and how small, quiet moments can provide direction, stability, and inner peace. The evening is aimed at anyone who wants to understand how calm can arise in everyday life—and what role attention, distance, and the conscious perception of the moment play in this.
The event will take place on September 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Workstage of the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.” The Workstage is located at Amsterdamer Straße 192, 50735 Cologne, and is easily accessible by public transportation (lines 13 and 16 to the Amsterdamer Straße/Gürtel stop). Free parking is also available in the employee parking lot on Amsterdamer Straße.
