„StreitBar: Würdest Du für Deutschland kämpfen?“

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

The question may sound provocative, but it’s more relevant now than it has been in a long time: Would you fight for Germany? In light of the war in Ukraine, the debate over conscription, and growing tensions in Europe and around the world, this question concerns not only politicians but, above all, young people on a very personal level. What service can or must a state demand of its citizens to protect itself from its enemies? How fairly is the burden distributed across generations overall? And under what conditions would a majority of young people agree to (mandatory) military service?

At the StreitBar, we’ll discuss these issues with our guests and you in the audience. In the interactive “fishbowl” format, everyone can join the conversation, ask questions, and share their own perspectives. We’ll also provide drinks, snacks, and plenty of room for controversial debates.

The event was organized by students from the Chiemgau Gymnasium as part of the traveling exhibition #ChallengingDemocracy – From Helmut Schmidt to Today, presented by the Helmut Schmidt Foundation in Traunstein.

Free admission and no registration is required

Note: At 6:00 p.m., students will lead a tour of the traveling exhibition.
