SCREAMING WORKSHOP

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

at the KESSELHAUS
FLINTA* Music Lab—a series of workshops for all FLINTA* people behind, in front of, and on stage

“Screaming” refers to a vocal technique in which one deliberately sings loudly and powerfully. This technique is primarily used in genres such as punk, metal, hardcore, and rock. It’s less about melodic singing and more about expressiveness and dynamics. However, it can also be integrated as a stylistic element in other genres. In this approximately 4-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to use your voice powerfully yet in a healthy way—whether on stage, as an outlet for emotions, or just for fun.
The workshop will be led by Laura (she/her), who has been performing as a singer in the metal scene and with her band The Tex Avery Syndrome since she was 19. She has been teaching classes and workshops on harsh vocals and shouting for nearly three years.

Workshop Objectives:
1. Warm-up
2. Understanding of sound production and anatomy
3. Correct use of breathing
4. Understanding the importance of proper breathing and learning various breathing techniques
5. Isolating the vocal folds and first attempts at singing
6. Cool Down

Each theoretical section is followed by practical exercises. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced participants who are not (yet) familiar with the technique and anatomy or who want to refine skills they have already acquired. No prior knowledge is required. Important: Please bring something to drink (water or tea; no dairy products or carbonated soft drinks) and a large towel.

Terms of Participation:
The FLINTA MUSIC LAB* workshop series is exclusively for FLINTA* individuals. FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans, and agender individuals. These events are designed to empower and specifically support people who are disadvantaged by patriarchal structures.By booking a ticket, participants confirm that they belong to the FLINTA* target group and have read and understood these terms of participation. This confirmation is a prerequisite for participation.

FLINTA* MUSIC LAB:
Despite a diverse cultural program and dedicated professionals, FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans, and agender people) remain significantly underrepresented on stage and in technical roles within the events industry. To actively counteract this, we are launching the FLINTA* Music Lab—a series of workshops for all FLINTA* individuals who are generally interested in music, technology, and everything behind, in front of, and on stage. Kreativfabrik and Schlachthof are joining forces to create a safe space for learning, experimenting, and networking—with a focus on event technology, DJing, and music production.

In cooperation with the Kreativfabrik.
The FLINTA* Music Lab workshops are funded by Initiative Musik with support from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Municipal Women’s Commissioner, and the Queer Center Wiesbaden.
