Breaking Battle at HALLE
VOL. IV

Move For Freedomisan international breaking event where dancers from all over the world come together to compete in battles, learn from one another, and experience and celebrate hip-hop as a global culture of exchange.

The event centers onspectacular breaking battles—including a4-on-4 crew battle anda1-on-1 kids’ battle. A renowned panel of judges will award prize money totaling 5,000 EUR.

In addition to the battles, the event offersfree dance workshops(including a workshop for beginners) as well as apanel discussionon the topics of hip-hop, democracy, and equality. During the battles, our summery outdoor area will transform into a chill zone with a DJ, food trucks, seating, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Friday kicks off with an open preliminary round incypher format forthe4 vs. 4 crew battle. The entire hall will turn into one big dance floor. Dancers from all over the world will come together, join the cyphers—several small dance circles—and show off their moves. The judges will select the best crews, who will qualify for the subsequent rounds. 

Saturday begins with the1 vs. 1 Kids Battle. Here, some of the best young breakers face off and prove their skills. In the evening, the action continues with the 4 vs. 4 Crew Battle: The crews that qualified the previous day will face off against invited international teams who have traveled from various parts of the world. The grand finale is theafter-show partyat the Kesselhaus.

Move For Freedom is for everyone interested in dance, culture, and social cohesion—together, we create an open space where diversity, creativity, and solidarity take center stage.
