Pillow Talk – Monologue of an Obsession
Katrīna Felsberga & Justine Eckhaut
What can I expect?
An intimate yet unflinching exploration of modern forms of love and their dark sides: Pillow Talk navigates the tension between desire and absence, between intimacy, dating, ghosting, and toxic attraction.
At its core is the state of limerence—that obsessive infatuation that becomes an inner journey and blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. The term was coined by psychologist Dorothy Tennov, who describes this state in the preface to her book *Love and Limerence* as a form of involuntary, almost compulsive mental fixation on another person. Poems by Langston Hughes enter into dialogue with songs by Franz Schubert, Thomas Adès, Christian Jost, Richard Strauss, and Kathleen Tagg.
The music speaks of longing, projection, and loss; of modern loneliness and the search for connection in a fragmented world—a musical monologue on obsession: vulnerable, direct, and uncompromisingly honest.
