PATRICK VAN LIER »WAS WIR MÄNNER WIRKLICH VERLIEREN«

Once again this year, the Cultural Office is pleased to participate in the “Action Weeks Against Exclusion and Discrimination” program. Three different readings offer thought-provoking insights into socially relevant topics—by those affected, for those affected, and for anyone else who would like to learn more and get involved. Exchange of ideas, personal accounts, and discussion are not only allowed but expressly encouraged.

Kicking things off on September 12 is Patrick van Lier, also known as Feministo, with his book *What We Men Really Lose*. The central question—unsurprisingly—is: “What do men actually lose if gender equality were consistently implemented?” Privileges? The power to define reality? Social privilege? In his book, Patrick van Lier addresses one of the central questions in current debates on gender equality—and turns the spotlight to where it’s often missing: the role and responsibility of men in feminist change.
