Open Air: BITTERES FEST
In the organizer's words:
Two time periods and two perspectives intertwine to create a multi-layered interplay between reality and fiction: After her mother’s death, Elsa, a successful commercial director, throws herself into her work without allowing herself time to grieve. In another time, in the same city, the successful writer and director Raúl Rosetti—who is battling a long creative crisis—is working on his new project—and is writing the very story that recounts Elsa’s life.
In *BITTERES FEST*, Pedro Almodóvar, the master director of Spanish cinema, explores the fragile boundary between life and art, between the lived and the imagined. The film sheds light on how truth and fiction are inextricably linked, sometimes in painful ways. Oscar winner Almodóvar, known for films such as “All About My Mother,” “Talk to Her,” “Volver,” and “Pain and Glory,” directed the film and wrote the screenplay.
As part of Cine k’s Open-Air Summer Cinema—July 30 through August 30, 2026. Doors open 45 minutes before the film starts; the film begins at dusk. Weather-proof: no cancellations due to bad weather; the film will be shown indoors instead.
