The NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra kicks off the new season with a musical extravaganza. Together with Principal Conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky and internationally acclaimed pianist Nikolai Lugansky, the audience can look forward to an evening full of energy, virtuosity, and grand symphonic moments.
The program begins with Antonín Dvořák’s spirited concert overture “Carnival, ” before Nikolai Lugansky showcases his extraordinary tonal artistry and technical brilliance in Sergei Rachmaninoff’s First Piano Concerto. The grand finale is Richard Strauss’s monumental tone poem “A Hero’s Life” —a sonically powerful masterpiece full of dramatic contrasts, lyrical beauty, and orchestral radiance.
A festive start to the season with a program that ranges from infectious joie de vivre to overwhelming orchestral richness, impressively opening the new season.
