MRS SCHULZ & URBAN FENCES
In the organizer's words:
MRS SCHULZ(Garage Rock, Hanover)
URBAN FENCES
MRS SCHULZ
We can say this: You probably haven’t heard of her, but Mrs. Schulz is one of
of Hanover’s oldest bands!
The band was formed in 1998 when six women from Hanover met at the
Lower Saxony Women’s Music Festival.
The newly formed band was initially led by Anca Graterol and
performed a set of covers centered on ’70s indie rock.
With the move to their own rehearsal space and an ever-growing collection of equipment
and technology, they began writing their own
songs. At times, the creative process even moved into the kitchen, where songs
were composed on the fly using a ukulele.
The band’s musical style has evolved over the years: they’ve tried out and
experimented, so that their current sound falls somewhere between garage rock and
health food store punk.
Since 2012, Mrs. Schulz has no longer been an all-female band, and there is now a man on
drums and on guitar.
The band’s motto is: Have fun with the music and interact with the
audience.
