Her crime novel *Snow White Must Die*, which she discussed as a guest on *Mord am Hellweg* in 2010, marked her big breakthrough. Today, Nele Neuhaus is Germany’s most successful crime writer, and her books—which are now published in 30 countries—are all bestsellers without exception. She’s back at “Mord am Hellweg” again this year, this time with her latest crime novel, “Everything Turns to Ash,” a new case for her tried-and-true investigative duo, Pia Sander and Oliver von Bodenstein.

This time, a series of strange murders disguised as accidents leads them on the trail of a tech billionaire who died in a fatal accident. During his lifetime, he had developed a groundbreaking AI chatbot and built a tight-knit network of more or less loyal allies within his company and family. Sander and von Bodenstein uncover additional murders from the past, all linked to his death, and must catch a killer who plans with cold-blooded precision and knows no mercy.

Actor Tim Bergmann, who plays Inspector Oliver von Bodenstein in the ZDF adaptations (“Taunuskrimi”) of Nele Neuhaus’s books, will accompany the reading. Bergmann will not only read passages from “Alles wird Asche,” but will also join Nele Neuhaus in a conversation to explore the background of the German “queen of crime’s” diverse and thrilling writing.
