Matilde Keizer: Lasagne im Bett

In her first solo show,“Lasagna in Bed,”Matilde takes us on a journey through her life. We get to know her as an Italian woman living in the capital, follow her “career” as an actress, and witness her cultural misunderstandings—all while dealing with a mother whom some might not wish for. 

But you’re lucky enough to be able to laugh at this suffering. With self-deprecating humor, Matilde can process everything life throws at her, and with every laugh, you’ll feel a little lighter. No topic is too trivial for Matilde, and everyone will find something to smile at, giggle at, or laugh at—so much so that it almost hurts a little. The balancing act between pain and humor. That’s Matilde’s comedy. And you’re welcome to enjoy it to the fullest. 

“Lasagna in Bed” is the wrong thing to do, but too good to stop. It’s the tomato sauce stain on the comforter. It’s melted cheese for breakfast: it’s simply everything you wouldn’t normally dare to allow yourself.
