La môme Piaf
In the organizer's words:
On Saturday, May 29, at 8 p.m., singer and actress Lasarah Sattler and accordionist Vadim Baev will present the biography of the unforgettable singer Édith Piaf at “Kulturhaus theater 1,” Langenhecke 4 in Bad Münstereifel.
Only certain music manages to captivate people across the ages. The songs of Édith Piaf, often called “the Sparrow of Paris,” do so with an almost surreal power. Her chansons are as dramatic and powerful as her life was.
As Édith Piaf leafs through her diary, she revisits her memories. Through this, we learn exciting, amusing, and tragic stories from her turbulent life.
With each of these stories, the stage design uses photographs to reveal more and more of the people who accompanied her on her life’s journey. Quotes and excerpts from letters emanate from a nostalgic radio, bringing Édith Piaf’s fascinating biography to life and making it tangible.
The evening features a selection of 25 songs from her repertoire, including well-known pieces such as “Non, je ne regrette rien,” “Padam,” and “Mon Dieu.” In addition, previously unreleased songs—which she was unable to record during her lifetime—are brought back to life once again during this performance.
This moving stage production was developed by Lasarah Sattler, who brings Piaf’s unmistakable voice and character to life with her unique interpretation. She is accompanied on the accordion by the virtuoso and passionate Vadim Baev.
