A movie under the stars—what could be better on a balmy summer night? For a long time, this very special treat was reserved for adults. But this summer, young movie fans ages 8 and up can also turn night into day and enjoy an award-winning children’s film at an outdoor movie theater after sunset.

On Friday, August 7, starting at 7:45 p.m., it’s time to cast off! for an exciting pirate adventure under the open sky and late into the night. But before *MY FRIEND, THE PIRATE* appears on the screen, a colorful stage program will keep everyone entertained while waiting for sunset. With Irish folk music, songs, and stories about hard-drinking sailors, the band “Clover” provides the perfect pirate soundtrack and invites pirates young and old to sing along and dance. But it’s not just Kalle Clover who wows the crowd with his voice—our guests from the film crew will too.

Voice actor Hubert Burczek (Krillis) is our guest and reveals what pirates’ voices must sound like to strike fear into the hearts of us landlubbers.

After sunset, around 8:30 p.m., an exciting big-screen adventure begins, in which a pirate ship from the past suddenly lands in a Dutch row-house neighborhood.

🍿 About the movie: When the Donnermann pirate family decides to lead a quieter life on land, a breath of fresh air sweeps through the sleepy coastal town of Sandburg. Far from their raids, booze-soaked nights, and wild adventures, they want to secure a stable future for their son Billy and settle down. The 12-year-old quickly befriends the neighborhood kids, Elizabeth and Michael. But not every neighbor welcomes the family’s arrival. After Krillis, the Donnermanns’ arch-enemy, steals the family’s treasure chest, the now-impoverished pirates must set sail once more.
