The West Berlin squatters’ movement began in 1979 in SO 36, spread throughout Berlin in 1981, and ended in 1984 in Kreuzberg 36.

Through stories and memories of an era of social change and political activism, the tours offer insight into the district’s roots, which are still very much alive today.

Andy, a true Kreuzberg native, “over 60,” and a member of the Regenbogenfabrik collective for 20 years, will guide you through SO 36 and try to give you a sense of “the feeling and life back then.”
We’ll visit places, buildings, and squares from “back then,” and in some cases, the spirit of “back then” is still kept alive there today.

Photos, personal experiences, and stories complement the historical facts and give the walks a very personal touch.
