Jubiläumskonzert »50 Jahre Knabenchor«
In the organizer's words:
The Jena Philharmonic Boys’ Choir, founded in 1976 on the initiative of Chief Conductor Günter Blumhagen and his wife Helga, is now home to about 70 boys and young men, who discover and deepen their love of choral singing here and carry on a vibrant tradition. For many years, the choir was led by Jürgen Puschbeck before choir director Berit Walter took over in 2000. Since then, she has shaped the choir’s development and guided it into the present with consistency and artistic sensitivity. The anniversary concert “Sing Gently” brings these stories to life: Former and current male voices of the choir, conducted by Jürgen Puschbeck, along with partner boys’ choirs from various German states and the vocal ensemble Octavi, which emerged from the choir, will come together to celebrate this journey as one. The celebratory program spans a musical spectrum from tradition to the present day and brings to life what has united this choir for half a century: the joy of singing together.
