In the organizer's words:
July 17, 8:00 p.m. – BLITZ
Jazz Festival in July—never happened before!
For the last time at the Blitz Club
Three acts, three distinct sounds, top-notch audio
“Solaire”—the wild high-flyers
A newcomer trio dedicated to modern fusion jazz. The three musicians first met back in 2024 at the national “Jugend jazzt” competition in Dortmund. Pianist Anton Kleespies has won multiple awards and has performed at events such as the Jazz Open Stuttgart. Drummer Paul Suttner also has numerous achievements to his credit: He is a multiple national prize winner of the “Jugend musiziert” competition, also performed at the Jazz Open Stuttgart in 2024, and has appeared repeatedly on the BR-Abendschau. Bassist Noah Scheufler has gained a wide range of stage experience, including at the Canaletto City Festival and in various gospel productions in Dresden. In 2026, the trio won the Bavarian Jazz Association’s promotional tour and was also awarded the competition’s audience prize.
“Digilogue”drum & bass now
Rarely does the combination of electronically reproduced music and sounds with an original acoustic musical world sound as natural as it does withDIGILOGUE. Digital, edited sounds, loops, and samples meet the musicians’ analog rhythms and melodies. By triggering the samplers with Octapads, digital technology becomes an element of improvisation. The musical impulse is fed back, as the playback of the sounds in turn finds a counterpart in the musicians’ performance. A musical road trip from trance to jazz.
The three musicians have been working together for over 25 years on a seemingly endless musical journey, creating a constant flow through dynamic and melodic modulations that is never monotonous but keeps propelling the evening forward in ever-changing ways.
“Sabina Sciubba,”a former Brazilian girl
Grammy-nominated singer and composer Sabina Sciubba is a true cosmopolitan of music. Having made a name for herself as the distinctive voice of her New York cult bandBrazilian Girls, she captivates audiences with her characteristic contralto voice, which effortlessly spans three octaves. On her solo LPs *Toujours* (2014), *Force Majeure* (2020), and *Sleeping Dragon* (2024), the European artist has also proven herself to be an innovative and eclectic composer and instrumentalist, playing the piano, guitar, spinet, and programming.
As an actress, she also appeared in several seasons of the series *Baskets*, playing the wife of comedian Zack Galifianakis.
Whether in English, French, German, or Italian—her elegant, multilingual vocals and theatrical stage presence immediately captivate listeners. Blending avant-garde chanson, jazz, cinematic pop, and modern club culture, she creates innovative soundscapes that are as intimate as they are captivating. At this Jazzfest concert, she’ll be accompanied by Joe Rehmer on bass andelectronica, as well as Uli Wangenheim and (tba)—a top-notch quartet that perfectly blends atmospheric textures with electronic dynamics.
What a difference a day makes—see you there!
