Dota & das klitzekleine Orchester
In the organizer's words:
For their current tour, the Berlin-based band DOTA is opening a new chapter. With the addition of a string trio, a trombone, and a clarinet to their core lineup, they’ve created a pocket-sized pop chamber ensemble: Das klitzekleine Orchester.
While singer and lyricist Dota Kehr guides the audience through the evening with her unmistakable voice, this unique ensemble—featuring Jonas Hauer’s sophisticated arrangements—unfolds a vast range of sounds that add new dimensions to the frontwoman’s multi-layered poetry. Sometimes delicate, sometimes powerful, and always finely tuned, this orchestra—which calls itself “tiny” yet represents the largest lineup DOTA has ever toured with—resounds with rich, warm soundscapes.
Polyphonic vocals create rich, warm soundscapes, while unusual instrumental combinations and surprising arrangements cast familiar songs in a new light time and again. Well-known pieces as well as rarely performed gems from DOTA’s inexhaustible repertoire are reinterpreted in equal measure by the Klitzekleines Orchester. Also featured will be musical settings of Mascha Kaléko’s poems—for which the band was awarded the RUTH World Music Prize at the Rudolstadt Festival in 2026—including some that have never before been performed live.
The result is a concert experience that feels both minimalist and opulent—an invitation to listen attentively and immerse oneself. On this tour, DOTA & the klitzekleine Orchester impressively demonstrate just how much power lies in quietness.
