At the Rocky Beach Theater, the dazzling stage diva Mrs. Pixie is making her grand entrance: the premiere of “The Deadly Stab.” But behind the scenes, tensions are running high—there’s jealousy and bickering among the cast. During the final curtain call, Mrs. Pixie suddenly collapses. When the three detectives visit her after the performance, she tells them she saw her daughter—who disappeared without a trace over thirty years ago—in the audience. Is it all just a hallucination, or is it really true? The actress is convinced, in any case: her daughter Aurora disappeared years ago after her ex-husband, Hector Quentin—a nuclear physicist and researcher at a particle accelerator—abducted her into the future. 
Time travel. Sounds absurd. Justus, Peter, and Bob take on the case anyway—and during their investigation at the theater, they actually come across a girl who looks exactly like Aurora: she’s dressed exactly the same and doesn’t seem to have aged at all. But then she disappears.
The Three Investigators set out to find clues. But the deeper they dig, the more confusing the case becomes.
