Ronja Räubertochter

"The night Ronja was born, thunder rolled over the mountains."

Ronja is the daughter of the robber chief Mattis. She grows up in Mattisburg Castle in Mattiswald, surrounded by a gang of robbers. When the Borka robbers suddenly move into the uninhabited part of Mattisburg Castle, Ronja is initially not at all happy with her new neighbors and wishes them "to thunder". By helping each other out in tricky situations, Ronja and Birk quickly become close friends, much to the annoyance of their hostile parents, who oppose the children's deep friendship. When they can no longer bear the quarrels between their families, Ronja and Birk flee into the forest, where they experience exciting adventures.

Astrid Lindgren's "Ronja the Robber's Daughter" is more than just a robber story. It deals with themes such as justice, respect, friendship and love in a playful way. And the little ones show the grown-ups once again how reconciliation can work.
