DÈЛIYA DESISLAVA MARKOVA (Fusion Jazz / Hanover) DÈЛIYA DESISLAVA MARKOVA DÈЛIYA stands for multi-genre fusion, spontaneity, interaction, and a willingness to take risks. Rooted in jazz, yet both composed and improvised, her music is strongly influenced by Balkan rhythms and Eastern sounds. Influenced by the experimental creative music scene in Brooklyn, New York, songwriter Desislava Markova—together with Jens Korte on drums, Leon Speicher on guitar, and Justus Czaske on clarinet—develops a novel, futuristic sound characterized by musical collaboration and deep listening. Questions of identity and origin from post-socialist and postcolonial perspectives are directly reflected in the music.
