Campus-Kino: Flüstern und Schreien - Ein Rockreport (Dokumentarfilm)

This DEFA documentary captures the spirit of a young generation in the GDR who used rock music to rebel against oppression, conformity, and their parents’ world. The film follows bands such as “Feeling B,” “Silly,” and “Sandow” as they perform throughout the GDR in the 1980s. As a raw road movie, it offers intimate glimpses into a vibrant, rebellious music scene and gives both musicians and fans a voice. Set against the backdrop of rehearsal rooms, stages, and everyday life, it paints a vivid portrait of young people’s longing for freedom—and serves as a unique historical document of the final years of the GDR.
