13–15 July 2026, 10 am–1 pm
This workshop will explore Billy’s creative process regarding what motivates movement invention and what deepens it once discovered. Throwing fear and judgment out of the window as improvisers and recognizing habits, we can explore how physical tasks, fantasies and/or emotional states can expand our experience of movement invention. Once discovered we will dive into moments from Billy’s repertory to explore these ideas inside of choreographed material and phrase work.
