With a diverse program featuring drama, dance, performance art, music theater, and clown theater, the Theater in der Meerwiese fosters encounters between the audience and contemporary performing arts.

As the central venue for Münster’s independent theater scene for young audiences, the Meerwiese offers professional artists and ensembles a space to present their premieres and productions to a wide audience. A program highlight of the independent scene is the annual WINTERPUNSCH Theater Festival.

The NRW-wide SPIELARTEN Theater Festival for children and young people, as well as national and international guest performances, round out the program, inspiring and delighting audiences of all ages alike.

In addition, the Theater in der Meerwiese is part of the “Kindermusikfestival Münster und Münsterland” as well as the KinderFilmFest, in cooperation with Münster’s movie theaters and the Schlosstheater. Come check it out!
