WiesnGentleman* 2026
In the organizer's words:
The WiesnGentleman* prevention project empowers visitors to take responsibility for one another and stay alert. After all, small gestures often make a big difference: asking a question, staying by someone’s side, or making a phone call when a situation calls for support can prevent a moment of uncertainty or a boundary violation from escalating into a dangerous situation.
The moment before entering the festival grounds
At Esperantoplatz, right at the entrance to the festival grounds, Condrobs staff are on duty throughout the entire Oktoberfest on weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. and on weekends from 1 to 5 p.m. They reach visitors right before they enter the festival grounds and before alcohol, loud noise, and crowds alter their perception. Through brief conversations, they encourage visitors to take responsibility, look out for their own group, and not look away in an emergency.
Street Work Right in the Middle of the Wiesn
In the evenings on weekends and before holidays, Condrobs street workers are out and about directly on the Theresienwiese. They don’t wait for people to actively seek help; instead, they approach visitors when they recognize that support is needed. This allows them to reach even those who would not turn to a help center on their own. The team primarily supports young people who have lost touch with their group, don’t know what to do next, or have found themselves in difficult situations—for example, by helping them find their friends again, reassuring them, ensuring they get home safely, or, if necessary, connecting them with “Sichere Wiesn” for women* and girls*, the Youth Protection Service, or emergency services. Anyone in urgent need of support can reach the team at 0176 13410149.
Wiesn Courage Award 2026
Visitors who have been vigilant at Oktoberfest, taken responsibility, and contributed to a peaceful festival through courageous actions have the chance to be honored with the Wiesn Courage Award.
Anyone who has experienced or witnessed such a situation can submit their story by September 27, 2026—via the form at www.wiesngentleman.de or by email to wiesngentleman@condrobs.de.
The jury, consisting of Stefan Murr, Johanna Bittenbinder, Max von Thun, Clarissa Käfer, Silja Steinberg, and Otto Lindinger, will select the winner from the submitted stories on September 28, 2026. The prize—an Oktoberfest outfit by Angermaier × Distorted People—will be presented by Mayor Dominik Krause on October 2, 2026, starting at 12:00 p.m. at the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke.
