The Dreadnoughts - Live (Support: die ueblichen)

The Dreadnoughts have been playing folk-punk gigs since 2007 with one goal in mind: to make enough money at the shows to pay for shots of Fireball Whiskey at the notoriously seedy Ivanhoe Hotel in Vancouver. Two decades later, they can boast seven albums and hundreds of memorable live shows around the world. And if there's one thing the Dreadnoughts pride themselves on, it's their live show, which follows the first and only rule of punk rock: Keep it chaotic. There are no scripted intros. There is no choreography. No prepared sound effects, light shows or "How's everyone doing tonight?" Just six loud extroverted people and lots of alcohol. The Dreadnoughts are not just a band, but an interest group that unconditionally promotes the idea that folk and punk music form a perfect unity.

The support comes from die ueblichen. They have known each other for a very long time and are an all-star punk band from Hangover. Centuries of punk experience are bundled together here. People from Abstürzende Brieftauben, Boskops, brutal verschimmelt, Klischee, Gay City Rollers, The Ewings, Systemfehla, Fuckt or Pissed Spitzels came together. The usual ones are just the thing for friends of punchy and catchy punk rock. This is no old rehash, because old hands and less old talents have come together here in a multi-generational project. The words are in German and can be understood if you are interested. Their lyrics are taken from life: sometimes everyday life, sometimes anger, sometimes clear political statements, but raising more questions than giving answers to everything.
