Susan Link: "Ich habe eine Wassermelone getragen"
In the organizer's words:
A collaboration between Peterknecht Bookstore and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation
We Women of Generation X—Between Conformity and Liberation | The journalist and TV host sparks a long-overdue debate.
“I carried a watermelon”—this legendary line from the unassuming heroine of *Dirty Dancing* symbolizes an entire generation of women: always getting the job done, rarely vocal, caught between their desires and others’ expectations.
In her deeply personal book, journalist and TV host Susan Link traces her own life journey and speaks with other women of her generation: Annette Frier, Désirée Nosbusch, Bärbel Bas, Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, Miriam Meckel, Katja Suding, as well as Carolin Feismann (founder of the first animal-assisted children’s hospice) and Suzan Yarkin (chief physician).
Susan Link and her interviewees share the hurdles and obstacles they had to overcome, the setbacks they faced, and where they found the courage to persevere.
Susan Link, born in 1976 in Pößneck, is a journalist and TV host. She hosts the ARD morning show “Morgenmagazin” and, on a rotating basis, the ARD “Presseclub.” She is also co-host of “Kölner Treff,” the weekly talk show on WDR television.
Admission: €18
Tickets are available at the Peterknecht bookstore, all Ticket Shop Thüringen outlets, and at www.peterknecht.de
