In the organizer's words:
In the middle of his life, Paul Gompitz makes the decision to travel from Rostock to Syracuse in Sicily. Driven by the desire to follow in the footsteps of the poet Johann Gottlieb Seume, the idea develops into a personal goal. But Paul lives in the GDR and thus behind a strictly guarded border that makes legal departures almost impossible. The plan could not be realized through official channels. In order to realize his plan anyway, he begins to prepare an escape that will bring him closer to his goal.
