Successful with a disability. How important are positive role models for people with disabilities?

Journalist, radio and television presenter Mirjam Kottmann has had multiple sclerosis since 2012 and is dependent on a wheelchair. Despite initial difficulties and her fears of losing her acquired standing as a journalist due to her disability, she made a career for herself through determination, willpower and an unshakeable belief in her journalistic path. She is the first woman with a visible disability to lead and present a major prime-time news program on Bavarian television (BR24), making her known to a wider audience.

In a dialog with Ms. Kottmann, we want to talk about her life and her personal approach to her disability and also about her inner drive to continue developing her own career despite great challenges and to assert herself as a journalist on TV.

The event is intended to encourage people to believe in their path and realize their goals despite external resistance.

Gregor Otto Papadopoulos, Head of Accessible Learning (MVHS), will moderate the event.
