Pure classical music awaits you on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. as part of the Orgelsommer at the Kreuzkirche in Dresden. Enjoy 45 minutes of virtuoso organ music on the grand Jehmlich organ, masterfully performed by Kreuzkirche organist Holger Gehring (Dresden).

The program brings together the most brilliant eras of the Classical period: Enjoy Johann Sebastian Bach’s festive “Praeludium, Largo et Fuga in C Major,” as well as the subtle arrangements of “Schafe können sicher weiden” and the famous “Air.” This is followed by Edward Elgar’s majestic “Imperial March” and the elegant “Chanson de Matin.” French Romanticism also comes to life with Gabriel Pierné’s “Prélude” and “Cantilène,” as well as the virtuosic finale from Alexandre Guilmant’s “Première Sonate.”

Holger Gehring, who trained in Lübeck, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, and Basel, has been the resident organist at Kreuzkirche since 2004, an international soloist, and a sought-after collaborator with leading orchestras.
