Listen up, Kiel! As the International Youth Association (IJV) and DIDF Youth, we’re hosting our first open-air festival this year at Germaniahafen, with a clear motto: Youth Against War!

There are a few festivals kicking off again this summer, but even those are becoming almost unaffordable. We know music is political! And that can’t depend on whether you can easily shell out 200€ or not. That’s why we want to use our Open Air to take a stand for a world where we young people no longer have to fear for our future.

We want a future free of racist messages in the urban landscape, where whether we get a job or an apartment doesn’t depend on our last name. We want a future where students don’t have to fear being sent to war for the sake of money and power in the hands of a select few. We want peace in the Middle East, in Ukraine, and in Palestine! We want a future where decent working and living conditions, education, housing, and a life of solidarity and peace are a given.

The answer to our shared problems and concerns must be our unity. We want to stand up for this together with you, right here in our city!

So come join us on July 4, 2026, for our open-air event—with sunshine, views of the fjord, great music, and delicious food! We’re building culture from the ground up and giving young artists from Kiel a stage—without any profit motive. Bring your friends, get to know us, and let’s make a stand: for international solidarity and against racism and war!
