Olga Reznichenko

From modern to punk jazz: this year, Russian-born pianist Olga Reznichenko, who lives in Berlin and Leipzig, will receive the SWR Jazz Prize, which is endowed with 15,000 euros. Reznichenko is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in German jazz. With her own ensembles, such as her trio O.R.T or in the "White-Reznichenko Quintett", as a soloist or as a sought-after side musician. The jury statement reads: "With Olga Reznichenko, an artist is being honored this year whose musical thinking is as unconventional as it is tradition-conscious: her playing on piano, keyboard and keytar is pianistically sovereign and intense, her handling of highly complex rhythms is furious and her tonal creative imagination is impressive." At the award-winning concert, she will present a new project specially put together for this event as part of Enjoy Jazz at BASF Gesellschaftshaus.
