Statements like these are like a sliding tackle from the ’80s: unsightly, outdated, and above all, dangerous.

Soccer has long been a social space where all the issues of our time can and must be discussed.

This is exactly where the “Montagsspiel – Soccer, Culture, Politics, Entertainment” format comes in. A concise neologism for a multifaceted format. Once a month, Gregor Ryl and Peter Farhangian join forces with rotating experts and you, the audience, to discuss the big and small questions surrounding soccer, society, and politics.

In August, the two will speak with David Johannes Berchem about his book *When Soccer Excludes: Effectively Confronting Discrimination*.
Soccer is seen as a driving force for social integration. Yet discrimination and exclusion are still part of everyday life in many places—on the field, in the stands, or within the structures of the sport. How deeply are these mechanisms rooted in soccer, and what can clubs, associations, and fans do to combat them? All of this—and your questions—will be discussed together this evening!
