MONNEM BIKE – The Festival: A (Bicycle) Celebration of Sustainable Mobility

Mannheim Celebrates the Bicycle: On Saturday, July 18, 2026, the eighth edition of “MONNEM BIKE – The Festival” invites visitors to experience the birthplace of the bicycle in all its facets. Following last year’s successful premiere, Spinelli Park—with its direct connection to the bike expressway—will once again serve as the central venue for modern and sustainable mobility, combining forward-thinking infrastructure with a creative space dedicated to eco-friendly transportation. Visitors can look forward to a diverse program that will once again transform the U-Halle into a hub for cycling for the entire region.

The program, presented by VTM Mannheim GmbH, ranges from spectacular shows to interactive hands-on activities. While professional BMX riders demonstrate impressive tricks, interested visitors can practice their first moves on rental bikes under expert guidance in subsequent workshops. A nostalgic playground for children and the opportunity to earn a high-wheel bike license promise a touch of historical charm. Watch a performance by the Little Bike Theater, read books from the mobile city library’s cargo bike, or get creative at one of the art stations: there’s something for everyone here, young and old alike. Regional vendors will also showcase the season’s latest trends at the Radsalon, while the used bike market invites visitors to hunt for special collector’s items. In addition to innovative trends in the bicycle industry, the event will focus on service offerings and the networking of local initiatives in the areas of environmental and climate protection.

The Radio Regenbogen stage sets the right atmosphere with a cultural program featuring live music, complemented by a relaxed chill-out area and a variety of food and drink options. A special highlight this year is once again the awards ceremony for the STADTRADELN 2026 campaign, which will officially conclude as part of the festival. A mobile bike station from VRNnextbike, located directly on the festival grounds, ensures easy travel to and from the event.
