In the organizer's words:
A Question of Identity: A Look at Munich’s Youth by Ulrike Günther
Eight teenagers meet in Munich. They go to school, think about their future careers, or their latest crush. So far, so normal. But they don’t see themselves as normal, not as the norm, but as “the others,” because their roots lie in Yemen or Iraq, in El Salvador, Sicily, Ukraine, or the proverbial Wallachia. The teens take us along on their daily lives—from the kitchen table to homework, from the immigration office to hope, from part-time jobs to homesickness. Their daily shifting between languages, cultures, and even nationalities not only enriches their lives but is also often exhausting. On stage, they share their stories, their experiences, their prejudices, and their songs with one another and with the audience.
