Liveshow "Die Empathie-Rebellion" mit Markus Mauthe
In the organizer's words:
The Hour of the Brave: How We Can Reinvent Democracy
Markus Mauthe’s camera has been to many places. It has captured the beauty and diversity of nature on every continent, but it has also documented the painful reality of our times: the rapid loss of biodiversity, the depletion of vital resources, and people’s courageous struggle for their freedom and fundamental rights. From these profound experiences and a treasure trove of images accumulated over more than three decades, one certainty has emerged: Even in difficult times, when conflicts run rampant and disinformation divides society,the human capacity for empathy remainsour strongest bond.
Together with Greenpeace, the activist and author shows how his iconic photos from around the world become inspiring catalysts against resignation.This show is not a traditional lecture. It is an immersive experience that demonstrates how the defense of democracy begins in everyday life:
... in the art of truly listening to one another;
... in the courage to acknowledge our own contradictions;
... in active resistance against the creeping normalization of hate.
Mauthe combines political analysis with existential depth and shows that the greatest danger to our freedom is not the noise of the loud, but the silence of those who could still talk to one another.
“The Empathy Rebellion” is an evening for everyone who is ready to break through the logic of polarization and become part of a movement that builds bridges instead of deepening divides. Markus Mauthe will prove that we can all be empathy rebels.
