Authentic living room session with Laura Silverstone

Singer-songwriter Laura Silverstone's music combines the raw energy of her Basque homeland with the poetic depth of her adopted home of Edinburgh. The winner of the Danny Kyle Award 2026 impresses above all with her virtuoso "percussive lap guitar" playing: Silverstone plays her guitar horizontally on her lap, eliciting a multi-layered, almost orchestral sound from the instrument. Her compositions move confidently between modern folk, rock and soul, with her powerful voice lending her personal stories a special urgency. In a deliberately reduced, almost private setting, she seeks a direct connection to the audience in order to make the atmospheric density of her arrangements palpable.
